What happens now? When your initial information request has been received, we will send you full booking details, along with a complete trip itinerary, and a list of things to bring.
Insurance We require that you purchase travel insurance when you book your trip with us. If you are coming on the Adventure Expedition your insurance must include an adventure activities clause (to cover white-water rafting, high-ropes and kayaking). Please note that Driftwood Ltd cannot be responsible for flight change penalties as a result of cancellation of a trip.
Non-participation While Driftwood Ltd acknowledges that travellers might not want to participate in some of the activities organised, no refund can be given for any activities not undertaken.
Dismissal from trips Driftwood Ltd reserves the right to remove any person from a trip, if that person is being disruptive or causing discomfort to the well-being of other travellers. In the event of a passenger being removed from any trip programme, the passenger is not entitled to any refund for any unused portion of the trip.
Changes to Trips Driftwood Ltd has the right to amend, change, cancel any trip programme or amend, add any component within the trip programme, to substitute the schedule or equipment as necessary; to cancel any trip for reasons of safety, low registration or other circumstances.
Validity We have compiled all information on this website and any other promotional material with care. It is valid at the time of publishing. We must explain, however, that trip details sometimes need to be changed due to circumstances beyond the control of Driftwood Ltd. Prior notice will be given of any important alterations to the trips and alternative arrangements organised, or refunds made available.
Prices All prices quoted are in New Zealand Dollars. Please use our Currency Calculator to see current exchange rates. All prices include GST (New Zealand Goods & Services Tax).
Bookings A Deposit of 10% is required for each person for each trip. This secures your booking, is non-refundable and must be paid within 20 days of trip confirmation. The balance of payment is due not less than 60 days prior to trip departure date. If bookings are made after the 90 days prior to departure date, then full payment is required on booking.
Cancellation In the unfortunate event of a cancellation by you, your deposit will not be refunded and you will be liable to pay a fee to cover the costs incurred by Driftwood Ltd. For any bookings cancelled up to 40 days before trip departure date, a fee of NZ$300 will apply. Between 39 and 7 days, a fee of NZ$500 will apply. Between 6 days and up to the date of departure, there will be no refund, but your deposit can be transferred to another, later trip.
Not included Airfares to Auckland, alcoholic drinks at mealtimes, snacks between normal meals, transfers to and from the start and end of the trip. We provide everything else - accommodation, three good meals a day, all transport, all activities and entries!
Groups Discounts are available to groups. If you are a group who wants to travel at a particular time, or who have special needs, Driftwood Ltd will do its utmost to organise a trip that fulfils your requirements.
Accommodation All accommodation is based on twin and occasional dormitory arrangements (eg. on the Marae stay). Please let us know if you require any alternative sleeping arrangements.
Court of Law All trip programmes and contract of passage is subject to the laws of New Zealand and any disputes arising will be litigated only in the appropriate New Zealand Court of Law.
